ACRETM BRINGS COASTAL LUXURY TO REVERE BEACH
Project Overview
Anthony and Nico DiCesare of 596 Brothers LLC set out to create a modern, luxury apartment building on Revere Beach that could serve as a long-term investment property. “We wanted something that was modern. We wanted something reliable,” the brothers explained. As a long-term hold facing directly onto the beach with sunset views, the project demanded materials that could deliver both immediate appeal and lasting performance against coastal elements.
Challenge
Building on the oceanfront presents a fundamental problem: the location that makes properties valuable also destroys traditional materials. “Using natural wood on the oceanfront can be very challenging,” Anthony and Nico note. “A natural wood just doesn’t cut it here on the beach.” They needed something water resistant that could maintain a coastal aesthetic while standing out from typical beach construction products
Solution: ACRE By Modern Mill
ACRE solved the oceanfront challenge by delivering the look of wood with composite durability. “It looks like wood. It cuts like wood, but it has a reliability of a full composite product,” the DiCesare brothers explain. Made from upcycled rice hulls, ACRE proved easy for their crews to work with using standard carpentry tools. “The finished carpenters were extremely pleased with it,” and the material’s waterproof performance gave them confidence for their long-term investment.
